This year’s Social Enterprise month aims to promote women in social enterprise to generate social good through sustainable business opportunities while fostering economic inclusion for women.
This is an initiative of Global Entrepreneurship Network-Ghana in Partnership with Social Enterprise Ghana and British Council. There will be a series of events in the month of March 2019 to put a spotlight on women in Social Enterprise, while commemorating the International Women’s Month celebrations.
SIGNATURE EVENTS FOR SOCIAL ENTERPRISE MONTH;
- 9th of March, 2019 – Women in Social Enterprise “Connect Night”: This event will bring together women in social enterprise to network, share ideas and connect at Jam Rock, East Legon from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
- 14th of March, 2019 – Policy Forum on Women in Social Enterprise: This event features a panel of social enterprises, government officials and key stakeholders discussing how policy could better support women’s issues. The event will also launch the British Council’s latest research report “Activist to Entrepreneur: The role of social enterprise in supporting women’s empowerment in Ghana” at British council, Accra – Ghana from 6:00pm-8:00pm.
- 22nd of March, 2019 – Accessing Funding Master Class: A Master Class for women in social enterprise at Impact Hub, Osu from 8:30 am-2:00pm. This event aims to educate and equip women in social enterprise and women-led non-profits with the knowledge and skills for accessing various sources of finance for growth.
- 4th-22nd March, 2019 – Media Engagement Series: This is to increase the profile and impact of women in social enterprise in Ghana.
- 21st of March, 2019 – Women in Social Enterprise Town hall: This event will bring female social entrepreneurs from various industries to inspire, educate and mentor young and aspiring female entrepreneurs on the art of starting and growing their social enterprise.
- 14th -19th of March, 2019 – Online conversations on Women in Social Enterprise: This event includes online conversations on women in social entrepreneurship, conversation on access to finance for women social entrepreneurs and will involve Ghana and UK women in social enterprise in twitter chats with the hashtag #GHANAUKwisechat
